Annual financial statement publication

Annual financial statement publication

4 steps to publish your annual financial statement.

Step 1: Review for mandatory disclosure obligations

Check whether and to what extent your company is required to publish annual accounts on the basis of the legal provisions (see Regulations for disclosure). Micro-entities (micro-corporations and micro-cooperatives) can fulfil their disclosure obligation by permanently filing their annual financial statement documents (see Annual financial statement deposit).

Step 2: Register once

Click on "Registration" in the header and fill out the registration form. You will receive your login details by email (email address and password) with which you can log in to the publication platform. You only need to register once, even if you want to publish on behalf of subsidiaries or for third parties.

Check whether electronic identification is required for you. For details about the registration and identification, see How it works - Register / Identify.

Step 3: Transmit documents

You can look up exactly which documents you need to submit for your annual accounts in the Regulations for disclosure. When you have registered and logged in, you have two options to submit your application:

  • Upload file
  • Fill out form (for small businesses)

The relevant transmission format of your accounting documents and company reports is XML format pursuant to section 11 URV (Company Register Ordinance). Annual financial reports and accounting documents of companies that issue securities as domestic issuers are an exception. These data shall be transmitted in the European Single Electronic Format (ESEF). In accordance with Article 3 of Delegated Regulation (EU) 2019/815, this is the XHTML format. You may also submit other known formats (PDF and Office) to the Company register. As the authority keeping the register, the Bundesanzeiger Verlag will carry out the conversion in accordance with Article 15 URV (Company Register Ordinance) in return for a conversion fee. See General Terms of Use / Fees and charges.

General information for the submission of annual accounts in XBRL format can be found in documentation:

A web form is available for small businesses (within the meaning of section 267 HGB). You only have to add your balance sheet data into the form in the standard preallocated balance sheet items fields and copy the appendix into a second field.

Step 4: Manage data

When you log in to the publication platform with your email address and password, you have access to the "My data" menu. You can always check and edit your data or saved templates. more
